Looking for a man named Wolfgang Mittman
Allow me to apologize for writing this in Englsih;. I do not want to insult the members of this community by running my words through on-line translator in the hopes of creating a crude approximation of proper German, and in light of so much of the community's profile having been written in English gives me some hope that you will be willing to indulge me.
I'm looking for a man named Wolffang Mittman. I don't know if he's still alive, nor yet whether or not he still goes by this name. Indeed, I recognize that a community this size presents a small chance of giving me any help, but there's no harm in asking, and I am trying other means as well.
The man I'm looking for would be about fifty years old now, having been born around 1960. My father - Joseph William Gardner Littler - was living in an army base in what was then West Berlin, as I understand it, when he became involved with a young woman whose last name was Mittman, and she gave birth to a son named Wolfgang. At this point, my father's father was called away, and my father moved along with him, whereupon he lost touch with the mother of his son. He was never able to find her or his son again, and died a few years ago. My brother and I, however, have some hopes of finding our long-lost half-brother, and we're making various efforts to do so, including this post to this community.
If there's anyone who knows this man, or indeed anyone with the name Mittman who might be related to him (and I recognize here that he might no longer go by this name; he could easily have been adopted or something), I and my brother would greatly appreciate any help in making contact with him.
Failing that, if anyone has any suggestions which might aid me in my search, I would of course also appreciate that.
